![]() There's blood all over the floor (didn't even know at the time that is was mine), all over my hands and my clothes. my heads pounding, I'm disoriented, hearing ringing noises in my ears, seeing spots, and I'm in terrible pain. (Mike told me later that I was out for what he felt like forever because of the follow up commotion, but it was probably only 2 minutes or so.) I collasped to the ground and blacked out. That was the hardest I've EVER been punched in my entire life. Then, I saw the guys feet start moving backwards and I thought he was backing off, when suddenly I saw his fist come back up underneath by me (I thought at the time he was going for my neck or something) and just fucking blew my head back up (bad whiplash). Everything was happening so fast, I wanted to just crawl up into a ball. I'm totally winded, gasping for air while he punches me a second time to my right side. Then suddenly out of nowhere, he swings at me and punches me right in the stomach. and to make matters worse, he was blocking the path too, the bus was travelling fast, and I had nowhere to go. I was like HOLY SHIT!! I just stood there speachless, stunned and scared shitless. this guy was carrying around BLOODY FUCKING BODY PARTS in the box. He tells me to look inside his box and motions me towards it, and I instinctively looked down.Īt first I could see some blood, then I noticed it. I was just probably trying to be funny since humor has also been my defense mechanism when I get a little nervous. I said something to him, but I can't remember what exactly it was now. and that guy just kept staring at me with these crazy eyes. I stand back up and turn around, and he's toe-to-toe with me, breathing heavy and staring at me. but this is where things get really fucked up.Īpparently that guy FOLLOWED me or something to the front and was standing RIGHT FUCKING BEHIND ME. So I pop open the LCD on the side, and I'm about to start playing the video. I go up to the front of the bus, and pull the camcorder out of the pocket and jokingly stick it in his back and say "This is a stick up, give me your transfer passes Jim. I figured now would be a good time to relax him, and show him that video of my son to perhaps calm him down. I could see Jim, and he kept looking back in the mirror watching the guy and you could tell he was getting really nervous. Okay, so back to the story - you could tell that all the passengers were a little nervous having this guy aboard. I wasn't really watching, but Mike whispered to me that he kept staring at us. He kept talking to himself, mumbling, his legs were shaking, and he was clinging to some little box in his hands while rocking back-and-forth like he was craddling his child!! I thought for sure he was high and the box probably had his stash or something. The other passengers were all avoiding eye contact with the guy. He smelled like one of those homeless guys that live underneath the piers down by the beach. Oh right, you could smell his body odor a mile away. We're about 15 minutes into the drive, when his huge CRAZY looking dude gets onto the bus and yells at Jim about how he's in a hurry and to drive faster. So it's the end of the day and Mike and I get on the bus (we sit at our normal spots up front) heading home. So yesterday I had told him that I had a video on my camcorder (it's one of those sleek-looking black Samsung flashcam's) of my son who just started walking a few days ago and he asked if I could bring it with me and show him. We both knew the bus driver (Jim) very well too since he's been doing the same route for 6+ years now, he's friendly and he's gotten to know our family pretty well (we've exchanged pictures of our kids and his grandkids during the drive). My buddy (Michael) and I always take the same bus home after work. I wanted to document it while it was still clear in my head.Īlright, so I'll start from the beginning. it's late and I should be getting some rest, but I will after I write this up. ![]() my camcorder was also stolen during the fight (had some family videos on it). I'm on a couple different pain killers, but I can't move my neck very well and it hurts to move anyways so I'm trying to stay as still as possible. My arms and legs (my second most valuable appendages) are scraped up a little but in working condition thankfully. I've got my trusty laptop here too (yeah, I'm a trooper. ![]() I have a broken jaw, 3 missing teeth, and I'm in a lot of pain. I can tell you that right now I'm sitting up in a hospital bed all fucked up. but things just escalated beyond my control. even now, my hands are still trembling but I'll be sure to use spellcheck like a madman to keep this story as readable as I can. To start out, I wanted to say that this was the single most terrifying experience of my entire existence.
